Louisiana Young Readers Choice Award
is a reading enrichment program allowing students to participate in the selection and recognition of outstanding books. Each year lists of 15 titles are compiled by a committee of school and public librarians for students in grades 3-5 and another for students in grades 6-8. Students may read or listen to at least 3 of the books, and then in January, vote for their favorite one.

Scholastic Book Fair
Our Annual Book Fair in December provides hundreds of selections of books, videos, DVDs, music, posters, and gift items for purchase. The library and classroom teachers benefit greatly from your support.

The Accelerated Reader Program, a computerized quiz program, will be implemented this year. Students are quizzed on reading comprehension and receive a score and points based on the difficulty of the book and questions answered correctly.
